An Investigation Based Research Project - 1607 Words

During the course of English 102 this semester, I analyzed, questioned, and made critical connections between sources by using my research, my sources, interpretation, analysis, and critique. Upon entering the class, I didn’t understand what an inquiry-based research essay was, and I didn’t see the distinction between this inquiry-based research project and other types of research I have done. However, through several modifications and suggestions from my classmates, instructor, and the Writing Center, I now understand what inquiry is, and how to employ it. Throughout all the papers I’ve written it s always just started to write off my head with little to no information about what the topic was. All thanks to English 102 it opened my eyes on how to create and demonstrate what I could put down on a paper. The project first started out by asking a question. Usually, I would stop there and go on with my paper, but for this paper, I dug deeper ask why, which only created more questions to continue my project. We learn in class how you should take everything into consideration, for example, my project is about â€Å"the effects T.V commercials have on children† the things that I was looking for were age, race, gender, and background. When more question is being asked if opens more information and forced me to determined what gives the meaning to the information that I found. It also forced me to examine how I was organizing the information on my website.
